Everyone wants to start the day with their best face forward—but it's up to you to protect and take care of your skin to keep it looking soft, moist, and with an even tone and texture. Unfortunately, maintaining your skin's youthful appearance can become more difficult as time progresses, due to heredity, lack of moisture and a variety of environmental factors. But with a few simple steps, you can protect and nourish your skin with these simple instructions to help you retain your youthful, even glow.

1.  Wash and Glow. In order to retain your skin's natural moisture, cleanse your face using lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser. Hot water can be too harsh and remove the natural oils from your skin.

2.  Hydrate. Water is probably the best anti-aging "vitamin" available for skin. Help keep skin clear and moist by drinking at least 3 liters of water each day. By flushing your system, you not only help remove toxins and waste, but well-hydrated skin appears smoother and less prone to developing fine wrinkles. Enhance and protect your skin by applying water-based moisturizer before using makeup.

3.  Exfoliate. Chances are if you don't exfoliate daily or weekly, your skin will be covered in dead skin cells that can cause your skin to not only look dull, but older as well. Without proper exfoliation, moisturizer won't properly soak in and foundation won't smooth over your skin cleanly. Exfoliate with face scrubs, microdermabrasion, beta alpha hydroxy pads or any product with Vitamin A.
